Lompico Gets Water Engine

Tuesday, June 28, 1938 - Santa Cruz Sentinel

Lompico, June 27 - Installation of a new engine, capable of a pumping capacity of 2000 gallons an hour, was completed last week by the Lompico Water Company.

At present pumping 1000 gallons an hour, the new Winsor engine performs at the rate of 1260 revolutions per minute. It easily forces Lompico's water 900 feet up to the tanks on the mountains.

Equipping the pump house with a new engine became necessary when the old engine, straining under a peak load, broke down several times.

I believed the remains of an engine, located under the Lompico bus shelter, is the engine mentioned in the article.
